Portable Flicka v2.0

This is a utility that allows you to download photos from your photostream, groups, sets, or even your contacts’.

Those photos can be from your user or the user you want, from Flickr.

It handles photo licensing so that you are notified about the license of each photo.

You can use it to export photos, backup, self enjoy.

Download link has been removed. Next version will not allow to download All Right Reserved Photos.

Version History

Portable Flicka Version 2.0.0.5
  • Groups are Sorted
  • Portable Flicka was filtering all All rights Reserved photos, but Flickr had a bug in that API, so, now it shows only Common Creation licensed photos by default
  • An option is added to allow download of All Rights Reserved photos. THIS OPTION SHOULD BE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK. USING THIS OPTION WITHOUT THE PHOTO OWNER PERMISSION IS THE USERS RESPOSIBILITY. BY NO WAY THE PORTABLE FLICKA AUTHOR IS RESPONSIBLE OF BAD USE OF THIS SOFTWARE.
Portable Flicka Version 2.0.0.4
  • Bugfix: groups were not loaded properly
Portable Flicka Version 2.0.0.3
  • New option: right clicking on the photo list, shows a menu that replaces the buttons All, None, Invert
  • Browse for destination now updated to new UI, that handles New Folder button
  • Now shows photo count on several ways and contact counts
  • Tooltips for the removed captions
  • New check for updates option
  • Fixed uninstall
Portable Flicka Version 2.0.0.2
  • Original format now downloads OK.
  • User interface has been cleaned to support users with 800 by 600
  • Thumbnails can be disabled, so that selecting photos from the list does not refreshes the thumbnails. This is for users with slow connection, or the ones like me that doesn’t want to wait to select a set of photos
Portable Flicka Version 2.0.0.1
  • Handling of original version of the image (simple patch)
  • Better handling of command line (was broken on some version) for removing registration on local pc
Portable Flicka Version 2.0.0.0
  • Group download added
  • Interface redesigned
    • The window now resizes and have splitterbars
    • Added splash screen
    • Licence and copyright information added to the application
    • Added Buddy Icon
  • Fixed download from favorites had a limit of 100 photos
  • Contact lists now sorted (some users appeared to have “lost” their contacts. The list was not sorted)
  • Cleared the list of sets and photos when an other user is selected
  • Now when you select the contact, the thumbnail loads (previously, you had to re-select it from the list)
  • It detects when internet is connected or not
  • Lists now have scrollbars when they dont fit
  • Buttons and lists are disabled when you dont select a contact
  • Add cancel to operations
  • Disable controls while refreshing
  • When you downloaded, ask to open folder of downloaded photos.

Many thanks to several people that commented about Portable Flicka.

Thanks!

    Hello
I was installing in my pen PortableFlicka v 2oo.5
but when I try to run from the pen it says:

“the application failed to start because STAMIN32.dll was not found…re-installing may fix the problem”

I´ve re-installed several times and gives always the same message

    I have added http://fon.com.ar/files/Stamin32.zip as a download.
    Copy it to windows\system32
    and try again
if it does not work you may have to register that DLL in the system. If you dont know how to do it, tell me!

I was wondering what api you used for Flickr access. I want to try something like this but am having trouble with authentication.

    Hi Richard,
I have developed my own DLL in VB6. All Portable Flicka sources are available in http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableflicka/

If you have any question just ask.

This is a really great tool! but am I missing a trick? Do Irealy have to click on each individula pic I want to download or is there a multi-select or select all option that I can’t see ?
If not, can I request this as an upgrade
    Thanks

    Phil :-)

Hi Phil, you can right click on the list, and then you are able to select from the menu the option to Check All.
In the next version, I have already added other buttons to do this without rightclicking.

    Glad you liked it!
