Finalmente, puedo sincronizar mi Outlook con el calendario de Google, pudiendo tener todo actualizado. Realmente es una característica que ha sido buscada por mucha gente, y finalmente, Google mismo la hizo posible.

Tanto GTalk, como Gmail Notifier permite configurar esta opción en Windows, pero si no se desea instalar estas utilidades, sólo hacer que se abran los links de mail en GMai, basta con realizar estas modificaciones en Registry de Windows.

Hay que crear un archivo de texto con el contenido de lo que está debajo, y guardarlo con extensión .reg.

También hay que bajarse el ícono de GMail (desde aqui   ) y copiarlo en la carpeta de Windows (en este ejemplo, c:\Windows).

Luego hacer doble click en el archivo .reg, y permitir que se ingrese la configuración al registro de windows.

Por último, hay que cambar el “proveedor de mail” desde la opcion “Configurar acceso y programas predeterminados” del menú Inicio>Programas

Una vez hecho esto, ya está listo!

If you don´t want to install this tools, but want email links to open in GMail, then you have to follow this instructions.

You also have to download the Gmail Icon from here   and copy it into your Windows folder (in this example, c:\windows).

Then, double click the .reg file to save the configuration into the windows registry.

Next, you have to change the mail provider from “Set Program Access and Defaults”, located in Start>Programs

And you are done!

For the ones that are still developing in VB6, there are some Add Ins I could not work without.
One of them is MzTools. I use it for several things but most of the times, for finding who calls a procedure, autonumbering the source code, finding between projects, replacing intelligently, statistics analysis, and more.
Check it out at MZ-Tools site.

The other one is Smart Indenter. Its name says it all. It indents your source code the way you tell it. Just fantastic. Try it out!

Both of them are freeware!

Mientras tanto, hoy EMC anuncia que se integrará con Autonomy,  movimiento que se ve claramente relacionado a la compra por parte de Microsoft.

De esta manera se posiciona de una manera importante como un proveedor importante de base de datos, convirtiendose en la “M” de LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL Php).

Es una movida muy interesante por parte de Sun, quién se está transformando en un gran proveedor de software open source.

Esto significa que los Application Servers que usamos tanto para Documentum como para FileNet P8, ahora pertenece a Oracle.
Oracle en sí ya tiene 2 applications servers, Bea también tiene 2 application servers.

Veremos con el tiempo que Application Server queda finalmente, cual es absorbido, cual es eliminado.

According to this article Palm wil stop to allow the download of the Java Virtual Machine. I don’t know why is that, but those are the facts.

The dead line is Jan. 12, 2008, so, if you have a Palm, and want to use Java applications, back up your installer, and keep it safe.
